Consumers in the lower to middle income bracket tend to consume relatively affordable alcohols such as Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's, Johnnie Walker, and Ballantine's, whereas high-income consumers prefer premium brands like Macallan, Casanoble, Dom Pérignon, and Hennessy.

However, these differences are not absolute and tend to vary depending on the situation and purpose. In fact, alcohol brand choices across different income levels show that these preferences can transcend economic capabilities. For example, even high-income individuals might choose a range of brands like Jack Daniel's, Ballantine's, and Balvenie, which vary in price.


Alcohol consumption changes significantly depending on the specific circumstances or purposes. Our study indicates that in family gatherings, beer (40%), wine (30%), and whiskey (30%) are evenly consumed, while in business meetings, champagne (40%) and cognac (60%, Hennessy 30%, Casanoble 30%) are the preferred choices. In social gatherings with friends, craft beer (50%) and whiskey (50%, Jim Beam 25%, Johnnie Walker 25%) are popular. This indicates that the choice of alcohol brand does not always correlate directly with income level.


The choice of alcohol varies in each situation, showing that consumer selections are not merely based on personal preference but are also influenced by the ambiance and purpose of the occasion. For example, celebratory events often feature champagne or wine, which enhance social interactions and suit the festive atmosphere.
